Q. Half Head Or Full Head?

A. A half head of extensions is for those wishing to create volume rather than length. 3/4 of a head can be used for those who already have relatively long hair and are only looking to increase the length by a couple of inches or so. A full head is advisable for those wishing to increase the length of their hair considerably and achieve a full and natural look.

Q. How long will it take to apply my extensions??

A. This will depend what method you have applied.

Braidless weaves, Easilocks, micro rings, mini tips and ultra tips take around 2 1/2 hours to apply and blend into your own hair.

Keratin fusion Bonds, Nano Rings and tape extensions take 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 hours to apply.

Q. Will extensions damage my natural hair??

A. This is a commonly asked question.

When extensions are applied properly there is virtually no reason why they would damage your hair, and to this end thousands of women have used extensions to grow their own hair to a desired length with no adverse effects whatsoever.

However, that is not to say everybody's hair is suitable for extensions.

We take the safety of your hair very seriously and take every reasonable precaution to ascertain the suitability of your hair before commencing with the extensions.

This includes a free consultation.

Everybody experiences normal hair shedding, don't worry, this is entirely natural.

You will notice on your hairbrush, whether you wear extensions or not, that you shed between 70 to 100 hairs a day - adding up to around 3,000 hairs a month or 36,000 a year. It seems a lot but on average we have at least 100,000 to 150,000 hairs on our heads alone, so this rate of growth and renewal is entirely normal.

Q. How long will my extensions last?

A. This really depends on the amount of care you put in to your extensions, regular maintenance is needed every 6-8 weeks, this is necessary to keep your extensions looking good, a full aftercare sheet is provided after your fitting to ensure you give them the best care possible.

On average your extensions will last 3 months, but with strict aftercare they can last 3-6 months, with some exceptions lasting 9-12 months.

You will notice that your extensions will start to thin after a while, this occurs with every type of extensions, many clients opt for a top up rather than a removal a new full head, a top up will replace any loose or thinning strands.

Q. Should i give my hair a rest between extensions?

A. There is no need if they are properly applied and removed, so your own hair remains undamaged. Most people prefer to have their extensions removed and replaced on the same day, so their hair continues looking as good as ever.

Q. Can i bath, shower, swim, go out in the wind and rain and play sports in my extensions?

A. Your new hair will look as fabulous wet as it does dry, and the extension joins will not show in water. You can shower, swim and go out in the wind and rain without having to worry.

Our hair extensions perform as well on the sports field or in a gale as the thickest head of rooted hair. They are so well connected to your own hair that they are indistinguishable from natural hair and just as tough.

Q. How experienced are you at fitting extensions?

A. I have been fitting extensions for 9 yrs, i am also a fully qualified hairdresser, city and guilds trained to a level 3 standard.

 I hold full insurance.

Q. Why is Russian Human Hair more expensive than the Indian hair?

A. The main reason for this is that Indian hair has a slightly coarser, denser texture and the russian hair is very silky and smooth and much more of a match to customers with a european heritage, the price difference is a reflection of overall quality and longevity.

Q. Won't all those extensions be to heavy for my own hair underneath?

A. If they are applied correctly there should be no problem whatsoever.

A good technician will balance the weight perfectly, taking a section of your hair and adding an extension of equal weight, resulting in a completely balanced natural look.

It is surprising how quickly you get used to having a gloriously full head of hair.

Q. Will my scalp still be able to breathe naturally with extensions?

A. My extensions are fitted close to the hair roots and scalp but do not block them, so you will be able to feel and touch your scalp as normal.

Q. Do i need to buy expensive shampoo's and conditioners?

A. On your aftercare sheet will be a list of products you should avoid as these will interfere with your extensions, there is also a list of recommended products, there is no need to have expensive products ordered in for you, the highstreet products i recommend have been tried and tested and work as well as specialist products.

Q. Can i use a hairdryer, hot rollers, and other styling equipment?

A. Yes, you can use all of the above with any Human Hair.

Q. Can my hair be coloured with extensions in?

A. Yes your hair can still be coloured while your wearing extensions, however it is recommended you have this done professionally as only the top section of hair can be coloured, or areas where there are no extensions, putting a colour onto the bonds will weaken them and you may loose several extensions.

Q. How long does my hair have to be to have extensions?

A. Your hair has to be at leat 3 inches long at its shortest point.

Q. Will my extensions be uncomfortable?

A. You may notice for the first few days and possibly up to a week that you might feel slight discomfort when sleeping, this is because you have yet to get used to the weight of the extra hair, and they may feel slightly tight, this is the same with all extensions and not something of concern.

Q. What happens if i don't like my new extensions?

A. This thankfully has never happened, but if a client was unhappy, i would recommend they return to the salon to have the extensions professionally removed.

I will happily refund the fitting costs associated with your extensions however the cost of the hair cannot be refunded.

Fitting costs are only given providing its within the first week of application. Deposits taken during consultations are not refundable.

Q. Why does it look like my hair is falling out when i have my extensions removed?

A. Your hair sheds on a daily basis as part its natural process.

It is normal to loose up to 50 hairs a day!

Just because you have extensions in does not mean that this process stops.

It continues but since your hair is held together by the extensions the hair is trapped in the installation and, therefore, not falling out into your sink or latching on to your comb or brush.

If you are wearing your hair extensions for 8 to 12 weeks that’s between 2,800 and 4,200 hairs shed during this time naturally.

The difference is that immediately after removing extensions your hair will look shorter to you, not only because you just removed the hair extensions but because from your perspective a large amount of hair has fallen out suddenly.
